“The Word” series is defined by a 5 by 5 grid with 25 points or dots representing each letter of the alphabet, five across and five down with y & z combined in the lower right hand corner. The title of the work is the principle component in creating the composition within a grid.  A word or words are coordinated by a dot, color, shape or direction.

In the “Rubber Duck” the placement of the red dots are according to where the letters in the word “rubber” fall within the grid while the letters of “duck” do the same and are represented with black dots.
